Flemish scroll - "a double scroll on furniture formed of two C-scrolls in opposite directions joined by a right angle." Well that's pretty specific. It's basically a fancy S shaped leg and no two shakes about it.
What a
pretentious useful word. Using "flemish scroll" will be particularly impressive when you visit your hoity toity friends; 1) because they are the only people likely to have flemish scrolled furniture, and 2) because they probably won't know about it yet so you will sound smart. It should get you some good pretentious points.
