c'est un truc de ouf = thats some crazy shit.

Have I taken photos of Leon today? Hell to the no. Its grey. Leon is a leaden tundra of imense cold and misery. And wetness.
On a slightly more postive note, in our 'Cultura y Actualidad' class we were treated with small Catabrian cakes called Sorbaos Passiegos. They are sweet and buttery and come in tiny little paper trays. I'm not sure a photo or description could do them justice. They were modest looking but insanely tasty little morsels. I recomend highly.

I spent a few minutes browsing art blogs for interesting images and found these russian girls. I like there glumness accesorised by scarves and food. A good look.

Then, low and behold I found an internet based treasure!! A website for a now ( sadly) defunct (I am almost conviced thats a word) art group called 'The Royal Art Lodge'. The name rang a bell and I was instantly charmed by their hilarious, sweet and evil style.
'Very Marcel Dzama' I thought to myself.
Anyhow, the Winnipeg based group turns out to have had Marcel Dzama and his younger sister as members! I hope they are working on many new projects together, but untill then this website crammed with past paintings, drawings and mad little ideas will serve as the perfect distraction for many hours to come.
(A link of epic proportions but well, well worth it)

This painting reminds me of a bake off held between me and my ex neighbours. Alas they won.

I have been experiencing this a lot recently.

My dream band.

It also reminds me of time, long ago, when a few school friends and I went through a stage of forming highly unsuccessful bands. Musical we were not. Creative, yes we were thank you.
Some unsuccessful bands I have been affiliated with:
  1. HPR. We wrote material, although mainly in the form of text messages during extremely boring revision sessions/biology lessons.
  2. Pickled Herring. A jewish folk pop effort.
  3. oh Johnny. I was the manager of this band which consisted of two younger cousins wearing there mums clothes and police man hats.

....well I'll post if I remember any more!

My tutor at Camberwell. Shane. He is a softly spoken man with a passion for knitting, crocheting and icing cakes. I never realised quite how madly talented and cool he was untill I left South London and never returned. Here are some pictures of some sweet and icing graffiti he did in Amsterdam. His website is lovely and full of beautiful and inspiring things.
